Day 3: Local thorn trees are said to have been planted by missionaries to force those sinful Hawaiians to wear shoes. The truth is that the military planted them because Hawaiian warriors could run between 25 and 35 miles per hour (yes, that is remarkable, but true). If they couldn't run that fast, they were dispatched by their comrades.
