Moab, Utah XC Ski Day Tours with Elite Upgrade
Out and back XC ski day tours on Geyser Pass Road or Dark Canyon Lake Road in the La Sal Mountains are technically mellow requiring standard cross country skis and equipment.
Both these treks are good for novice to intermediate skiers. Both are predominantly uphill on the first leg and predominantly downhill on the way back. Both are very scenic and offer the opportunity to stop and play in open meadows. Elevation gain is over 1000 feet and destinations are above 10,000 feet. Open to backcountry, cross country, and skate skiing (with packed conditions) equipment. No avalanche danger on either route.

One way up Geyser Pass Road and down Dark Canyon Lake Road (15 miles) with shuttle delivery at Geyser Pass trailhead and pickup on Dark Canyon Road is an additional $75 per skier.
This is a more challenging route for intermediate to advanced skiers with steeper grades and changing scenery as we traverse the La Sals to the eastern slopes where we will stop for lunch and a bit of telemark or downhill practice at Dark Canyon Lake. Extremely beautiful views of Paradox Valley and Mount Peale.
Shay Mountain Ridge XC ski day trips in the Abajo Mountains are and additional $95 per skier.
One of the most beautiful places in southeastern Utah, this area is criss crossed by packed snowmobile tracks. mostly undiscovered by cross country skiers. Skiing in the Abajos is a treat, but we usually have to break trail, so wide cross country skis, backcountry, modified downhill, or telemark equipment is required. No skate skiing here.
*Prices do not include skis, boots, and poles.
