THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII was once the home of Dreamride company owners. They personally offer very high end fully-guided and supported private vacations based from North Kohala that include road and mountain biking, bird and whale watching, snorkeling with dolphins, turtles and manta rays, sea kayaking, surfing, hiking and caving. DREAMRIDE'S MOAB MOUNTAIN BIKE SHOP takes you to our small pro shop for custom-built Dreamride Edition Ventana, Moots, Pegoretti, Lynskey, Merckz and our own Dreamride house-brand bikes. DREAMRIDE MOUNTAIN BIKE RENTALS are absolute cream, available only to vacation clients. Fleet bikes are built right here in our Moab shop specifically for the challenges of the terrain we ride. New, these custom-built wonders go for between $3500 to $8000. Each is tuned, inspected and upgraded constantly. Twice a year each bike is completely overhauled. If you fall in love with the bike you rent, you can buy it and subtract rental fees. As a rule we do not rent to the general public without a vacation booking, but make exceptions for mature couples who have ridden with us or bought from us in the past.

In 1996 Dreamride originated a unique environmental approach to mountain bike touring in the Mecca of the sport, Moab, Utah. Focusing on the smallest possible groups matched in skills and interests with trails carefully chosen to suit personal abilities and interests, these methods allow guides to share thrills, safety, solitude and a clear environmental conscience. Dreamride's trail selections are based on a decade of movie production and location scouting, bike stunt and equipment co-ordination for films and video productions. There are copycats, but others simply cannot reproduce our results, because they focus on profit, rather than environment, and numbers, rather than personal needs. Dreamride has always specialized in private parties, tiny matched groups and couples. Basic services consist of ride series of up to five days combined with the finest in-town lodgings. SERVICE UPGRADES provide more flexibility, gormet food preparation, creative shuttles, night rides, road rides, rides from town, and expanded travel into Colorado and Arizona. Rides are staged from and supported by our SHOP AND TOUR OFFICE located in a quiet cul de sac on a hill next to a wildlife preserve in the center of town amid restaurants, pubs and the finest accommodations. Dreamride's mountain bike vacation services began in 1996 after a privately-funded study of the effects of commercial mountain biking on sub-desert ecosystems.
